March 2018.
It was last day in Ooty after 4 days very nice stay in Ooty and Coonoor. Around 5 pm in the evening, wanted to visit Botanical garden one more time and spend some time with the tall and big trees there. I was sitting on one of the bench and enjoying the birds chirping. While looking around I have noticed that a little girl is drawing something, she was about 9 to 10 years. I tried to say Hi! but she was not even looking around.
I went for a walk around the park and came back to the same bench almost after 30 mins, she was still drawing. With curiosity I went to her and said Hi, she just looked at me, said Hi and continued with her work. I asked her what are you drawing, she showed me the drawing and I was shocked after seeing that. "There is a drawing competition in my school next week, I am preparing for that" she told me while I was coming out of the shock.
The drawing was Botanical garden, as it is Botanical garden, she didn't even miss the stones at one corner, all the big trees, small plants, birds, people she drawn every thing including the carrot sellers at the main gate. I asked her you were not even looking around but how did you draw this exact. "I know all corners of this park, I come here every day to talk and play with my friends" she replied. I asked but where is your friends? So happily and excitedly she told "Sorry, meet my friedns" and pointed her finger on to all trees, these are my friends and I spend time with them every day.
It was time for early sun set and becoming little dark, one guy came to her and asked shall we leave? "Yes papa" she told bye to me and left from there. My hand said bye, but not me. While walking back to hotel I thought like it's her father letting her spend time in nature and not in tuition, and he knew that NATURE is the first and best teacher.
I did not even ask her name. But I remember her with the name I had given "Prakruthi" and definitely she would have won the prize, sorry not only prize but also the hearts. Hatsoff to her and her father..
